Transportation of Marijuana

Transportation for sale or importing into the state (or offering to transport or import) less than two pounds of marijuana is a class 3 felony, punishable by a sentence of two to nine years.
Transportation of more than two pounds of marijuana is a Class 2 felony, punishable by a sentence of three to ten years.

Transportation of Dangerous Drug

The unlawful transportation or transportation for sale of a substance classified as a “dangerous” drug (such as hallucinogenic drugs, stimulants, depressants, and anabolic steroids), is a Class 2 felony. A Class 2 felony is punishable by three to 12.5 years in jail and a fine of up to $150,000.

Transportation of Narcotic Drug

The unlawful transportation or transportation for sale of narcotic drugs is a Class 2 felony. A Class 2 felony is punishable by three to 12.5 years in jail and a fine of up to $150,000.

A Note on Sentencing

Likely outcomes may vary depending upon the facts of the case, the judge, the prosecutor, and other factors. Sentences can increase in severity with a record of prior offenses.
